10 Short Cricketers Who Proved Height Isn’t Everything
1. Kruger Van Wyk (4’9″)
Born in South Africa, played for New Zealand. He’s the shortest to ever play. He filled in for BJ Watling and played 9 Tests.
2. Tich Cornford (5’0)
This English guy was the shortest before Kruger Van Wyk. He played 4 Tests.
3. Mushfiqur Rahim (5’3″)
Ex-Bangladesh captain. Being short didn’t stop him from being awesome. Good batter and keeper.
4. Mominul Haque (5’3″)
Another great Bangladesh batter, also a captain. He’s got a great record at home in Test cricket. He averaged 38 in 61 Tests.
5. Gundappa Vishwanath (5’3″)
Before Sachin and Gavaskar, there was Vishwanath. Known for his class. He played 91 Tests and scored over 6,000 runs.

6. Parthiv Patel (5’4″)
Made his debut for India as a teen at 17! The leftie played a few Tests and did well before MS Dhoni took over as keeper.
7. Prithvi Shaw (5’4″)

8. Kedhar Jadhav (5’4)
A clever all-rounder, Jadhav started playing for India in 2014 and played in the 2019 World Cup.
9. Temba Bavuma (5’4)
He captains the South African Test team. Also led the team in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
