Did Red Bull’s changes make the RB21 a rocket ship
For the British Grand Prix 2025, Red Bull introduced a low-downforce-specification for their RB21. Less wing makes less air drag which results in more speed on straights. Earlier in this weekend more often on Friday Verstappen struggled with finding right balance and grip of the car. But Red Bull managed to get things done for him on time. He was looking fast since FP3 and now he delivers pole position in Qualifying. The car’s Pace was undeniable specifically on long straights of Silverstone were clean air Means a bucket full of gold coins for the driver.
The RB21’s setup change played a big role: Verstappen said “the balance was good later in FP3 and qualifying and it came altogether in the final lap”. He found good balance in corners and threshold speed in the straights. Hence, he delivered a lightening lap at the end of Q3.
