As we know, the main ICC multinational tournament was in 50 over (one day) format, but later as the game of cricket grown in the world with the time, a short and more entertaining format called as Twenty20 International (T20Is) came in picture, it has 20 overs in each innings.

Like, there was an ICC WC in ODI format, ICC introduced Twenty20 World Cup also known as ICC Men’s T20 WC in 2007.

The ICC Men’s T20 WC is organized in every 2 years hosted by different countries. The inaugural ICC Men’s T20 WC is hosted by South Africa in 2007. India became the inaugural champions in captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni defeating Pakistan in the final of the tournament.

The next edition of ICC Men’s T20 WC will be organised in 2026 hosted by India and Sri Lanka, where all the teams, once again fight to be the world champion of this format.

After 2016, it should be organised in 2018 but because of international series commitments of different teams it is postponed to 2020 but then once again postponed to 2021 because of Corona Pandemic all over the world in 2021 it is supposed to be organized in India but because of Corona the venue is changed to UAE and Oman.
