A player individual can do whatever in his/her career but always recognised and respected all over the world by his performance in the ICC tournaments and the what his team earned in those ICC tournaments.
Most of the Players like Ricky Ponting, Kapil Dev, M S Dhoni, Michel Clarke, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Steve Smith and many more make their name in world cricket not only by their own but complete teams performance in the ICC tournaments. But that doesn’t means that the individual performances are not recognised by the ICC(international Cricket Council).
As we know 2027 WC it still far away and most of the cricketers from last decade are retired from the T20 cricket. So the two players with most number of ICC title won in their career are Ricky Ponting and Virat Kohli , two legends of the game from Australia and India respectively, who got fame, respect and winnings regarding themselves and their team capabilities over the years.
Ricky Ponting (Win 5 ICC Titles)

Debuted for the international team of Australia in 1955 against South Africa and played his last game on December 2012 against South Africa also. Since his debut till his last match he got many titles and never looked back became the captain of Australian cricket team or we can say one of the greatest captain of Australia.
- He was the first player to win the 5 ICC titles in the world cricket.
- He won 1999 WC as a players under the captaincy of Steve waugh.
- He led Australia as captain to win 2003 and 2007 ODI WC.
- He also led Australia to their two ICC Champions Trophy in 2006 and 2009.
He was not only a Successful player but also one of the best captain known for his aggressive approach and his 71 international centuries after Sachin Tendulkar in his era.

Virat Kohli (Win 5 ICC Titles)
Known as the King of the modern day cricket over all 3 formats one of the greatest batsman India produced.
He managed to win matches for his team from difficult situations and got the name of Chase Master.
He surpassed the record of Ricky Ponting having 2nd most centuries in international Cricket by bashing 82 Centuries over all 3 Formats, and with the most number of international centuries in ODIs with 51 hundreds surpassing his idol Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 hundreds.
And now in 2025 he also matches the great Ricky ponting in count of his being part of a ICC title winning team for the most times that is 5 including his under 19 WC Trophy as a captain.
- He won his first ICC trophy being the captain of his team in Under 19 WC 2008.
- He won won his 1st only ODI WC Trophy till now in 2011 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni witnessing the greatest batsman of India Sachin Tendulkar while sharing dressing room with him.
- He won his 1st T20 WC Trophy in 2024 in the team led by Rohit Sharma and being the Man of the match in Final of the T20 WC 2024, when India ended their ICC title draught after 11 years.
- He won 2 Champions Trophy 1 in 2013 under MS Dhoni and 2nd under Rohit Sharma in 2025.
