Asian Cricket Board Cup 2025 final is scheduled for Sunday, and before it, Pakistan cricket team head coach Mike Hesson reflected upon their two previous losses against India. These two occasions have been when Pakistan got beaten by India-this first instance in the group stage and the second in the Super Four. India have not lost a single game till now in this tournament, while Pakistan had to fight tooth and nail against Bangladesh in a gritty game on Thursday to secure their berth in the summit clash. However, Hesson added, “We have certainly played better in the last game against India as opposed to the group stages and had control over the game for a large part till that devastating innings from Abhishek Sharma snatched it away.”
“I think the way we played against India in the last match was a huge step up from the first game. The first game was a bit passive, we allowed India to control the game.”
“The last match we had that game by the scruff of the neck for long periods and it took an exceptional innings from Abhishek Sharma that took the game away from us. We have deserved this opportunity so it’s now up to us to make the most of it. We have been trying to be in a position to win the trophy.”

Hesson gave an explicit directive to the Pakistan cricketers as he pressed them to focus on cricket and pressurize India from the very beginning in the final.
“Look, my message to the players is just focus on cricket and that certainly we will be doing. In terms of gestures there has always been passion in terms of high-pressure games,” Hesson said.
We have to be good enough to put India under pressure for longer because there is a reason why they are ranked the top side in the world. We have to put them under pressure and that will be our challenge.”
