Jannik Sinner Makes History as Wimbledon 2025 Winner, First Italian Men’s Champion

On 13th July 2025, on centre court at the England club in Landon World No. 1 Sinner defeated  World No. 2 Alcaraz, 4–6, 6–4, 6–4, 6–4 — a four-set comeback.

The match lasted 3 hours and 4 minutes.

It was a historic win for Sinner as he became the first Italian ever to win the Wimbledon men’s singles title. It is his 4th Grand Slam title and first on grass.

Memorable Moments

A champagne cork interruption during the start of the second set briefly halted play, but Sinner remained unfazed and took control. There were many high-profile spectators, including royalty and celebrities such as the Princess of Wales, Nicole Kidman, and Matthew McConaughey. The match was outstanding as Alcaraz played aggressively in the first set and later Sinner played at his best and won  his first Wimbledon title.
